Extravaganza Tango Weekend

This year’s event features six milongas, nine tango classes and performances by world-renowned tango champions, Daniel Nacucchio & Cristina Sosa, Hugo Patyn & Celina Rotundo and Carlos Urrego & Ruth Hernandez. Saturday night features live music performed by the Messiez Tango Quartet. Roger Peterson will be your DJ for Saturday night’s alternative milonga!

Celebrated for their teaching, Nacucchio & Sosa are guest instructors at one of the most prestigious tango schools in BA, Escuela Mundial de Tango. The 2008 world champions will perform on Saturday night in addition to teaching three classes during the weekend.

From Buenos Aires, Argentina, and currently residing outside Dallas, TX, Rotundo and Patyn are known for their connection which is at once elegant and sophisticated, but at the same time fresh and playful. They also teach at one of the most prestigious festivals in the world, CITA, in BA. They will be performing on Sunday and also teaching three classes during the weekend.

Practica free with class.

Come and learn a new dance and make some friends. We'll teach you the building blocks of tango and then help you develop the technique to dance them! Each class builds on the last. Stay for the practica afterward, and we will help you combine what you have learned in previous classes.

8:00 - 10:00 PM, Every Wednesday

Guest DJ for April: Mark Sakowski

Beginning, intermediate and advanced dancers are welcome. We'll dance with you, work on steps you find challenging and/or suggest steps or combinations for you to add to your repertoire. We want this practica to be collaborative. Share material you're working on and we'll help you practice. This is also a great time to practice your non-dominate role if you've decided to try the other side (lead or follow). The practica is $10 or free for those taking a class.
